Hello, I’m Paul — the founder and lead instructor at Tropical English. I'm originally from Tasmania and now live on the beautiful Gold Coast, where I combine my love of language, culture, and relaxed outdoor living to create a unique and enjoyable English‑learning experience for students around the world. I’ve taught English to learners of all ages and backgrounds, and I specialise in helping students build real confidence through natural communication. My lessons blend structured skill development with practical, real‑world interaction, ensuring steady progress in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. For students on the Gold
Coast, I offer optional in‑person lessons in calm, comfortable public spaces such as
quiet parks, cosy cafés, or peaceful beach walks— depending on the weather and the
lesson package you choose. These relaxed environments help students feel at ease,
speak more naturally, and enjoy learning in a way that feels authentic and stress‑free.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy playing guitar, studying languages, and drawing. These
